Job Summary
The Lead Staff, Front Desk|Facility & Amenity Operations position is responsible for providing effective support and information to patrons regarding all recreation programs, consistent administrative assistance, and occasional training or mentorship of junior staff. This role places a primary emphasis on facility and amenity operations, specifically the physical set up and take down of Fieldhouse offerings and parties. As a Lead, you will ensure the facility is secured and that all equipment rentals are properly monitored. Weekend availability is a priority for this position to support continuous program needs and high-traffic facility demands.
Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older.
- Two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Have or obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within four (4) weeks of hire.
The successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current District policy requirements.
Preferred but not required:
- Knowledge of related sports and activities associated with the Fieldhouse.
Essential Functions

- Assist with the set up and take down of Fieldhouse offerings and parties.
- Maintain a working knowledge of ongoing Fieldhouse and recreation activities.
- Communicate District policies regarding memberships, front desk procedures, and facility use.
- Answer general staff questions in the absence of a Coordinator.
- Mentor New Front Desk Staff.
- Direct people, calls, and messages to appropriate departments if unable to supply necessary information.
- Assist and greet customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Collect payments from customers for all recreation and Fieldhouse programs.
- Work through the Unpaid Visits List to collect payment as needed.
- Register customers for classes, passes, and programs; issue proper receipts.
- Monitor and record equipment rentals and returns.
- Handle emergencies and other patron-related issues in the absence of a coordinator, supervisor, or manager; provide information via incident report or other communication method.
- Open, close, and secure the Fieldhouse.
- Fill out paperwork and balance transactions.
- Assist the Coordinator with projects as needed for the Front Desk.

- Duties primarily performed in a public setting, requiring constant interaction with a variety of people.
- Work effectively with crowds and uncooperative individuals during difficult situations, emergencies, or periods of continuous demand.
- Exposure to frequent noises and interruptions.
- Work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays depending on program needs.
- This position is ineligible for remote work. Essential duties cannot be completed without being physically present.
