About the Role

Company Description

Emergency Pet Care is an after-hours emergency veterinary hospital serving Trussville, Birmingham, and the surrounding communities. We exist for one purpose: to provide immediate, expert care when pets are facing life-threatening emergencies.

Our hospital is open nights, weekends, and holidays, because emergencies don’t follow a 9–5 schedule. We’re equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, and we maintain a consistent team of veterinarians and licensed technicians who are committed to delivering excellent medicine in high-pressure moments.

Whether managing venomous snake bites, surgical emergencies, heatstroke, or critical trauma, our focus is always on providing responsive, compassionate care backed by medical expertise and modern tools.

What We Offer

As an emergency-only facility, Emergency Pet Care offers a clinical environment built specifically for urgent cases. We are not a general practice and do not provide routine wellness care—our focus is emergency triage, diagnostics, stabilization, and treatment.

Equipment & Capabilities Include:

  • Digital radiography
  • In-house blood analyzers (CBC, chem, clotting panels)
  • Oxygen therapy and critical care monitoring
  • Emergency surgical suite
  • Endoscopy
  • Blood transfusion protocols
  • Radiology and specialty consult access

Our cases range from heatstroke and trauma to GDV, respiratory distress, toxicities, and advanced wound care. We are also equipped to handle local challenges such as copperhead and rattlesnake envenomations.

Scheduling & Support

We offer flexible scheduling options for both full-time and part-time positions. Our hospital operates during the hours general practices are closed:

  • Friday–Monday: Open 24 hours
  • Tuesday–Thursday: 6 PM – 7 AM

Shifts are shared across a collaborative team, and overnight coverage is supported by experienced technicians and support staff. We value teamwork, communication, and trust.
