About the Role

Pay Range: $20.50 - $25.50

SUMMARY

Responsible for providing the best possible care for batteries in order to maximize the battery life.   Provides assistance in repair work and developing a hands-on understanding of the equipment.  Provides the best possible utilization of the material handling equipment while reducing the deterioration of batteries.  To hasten the repair process within the Equipment Maintenance Department.  Maintains a high standard of safety and sanitation within the Equipment Maintenance work area.  Adheres to all company and Distribution guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Change material handling equipment batteries in accordance with schedule.

Service and clean material handling equipment batteries- which includes cleaning, watering and charging, in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, OSHA regulations, and company policies and procedures.  Repair battery and charger D.C. cables and connectors as needed.

Assist the battery maintenance/change and Equipment Maintenance Mechanic with repairs or service, including but not limited to, greasing and steam cleaning as directed.

Retrieve parts and materials for repair of material handling equipment, when required.

Clean and maintain the equipment maintenance work area, upon completion of each repair or service function.

Adhere to all safety policies, procedures and best practices while performing tasks in a manner that promotes safety at all times.

Perform other related functions as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age
Forklift Operators license required.
Satisfactory performance reviews.
Strong communication skills
