Assistant Golf Shop Manager

Seasonal Position


We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Golf Shop Assistant Manager to join our dynamic golf operations team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a premier golf course in Sioux Falls, ensuring exceptional service and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in managing daily operations of the golf shop, including taking tee times, checking golfers in for play, merchandise sales,      and customer service

- Provide excellent service to members and guests

- Support the implementation of sales strategies and promotional activities to enhance revenue

- Collaborate with the Assistant Golf Professional regarding staff schedules, training, and performance to maintain high standards of service

- Ensure the golf shop maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment

- Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events and tournaments

- Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the Company/Prairie Green Golf Course by being solution-orientated, having positive interactions with all team members and meeting customer service standards set by management.

- Monitor stock levels and restock as needed

- Collaborate with the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professional to enforce policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance

- Performs additional assignments per the direction of the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professional

- Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required


Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous experience in retail management, customer service, or golf shop operations preferred

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories is a plus

- Basic proficiency in point-of-sale systems and inventory management software (training with our systems will be part of your onboarding process)

- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings as needed

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in retail or hospitality management is advantageous

- Compute simple math and count change accurately


Work Hours and Conditions

- Seasonal Position

- Work hours may include early mornings and evenings on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement (non-threatening) weather, plant protection products, fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, and sharp and rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may result from exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.

Salary Description:

$16.50/hour
