About the Role

We are looking for a Head of Sales Mexico to lead our national sales organization and drive sustainable growth across the Mexican market. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for sales performance, strategy execution, customer relationships, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will play a key role in shaping ZIM’s commercial success in Mexico while serving as a core member of the local Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing national sales team
  • Ensure achievement of volume, revenue, and profitability targets
  • Distribute sales targets and define priorities across the team
  • Oversee customer visits, quotations, agreements, reporting, and revenue follow-up
  • Manage key accounts and negotiate strategic and special projects
  • Improve sales processes and interfaces with other departments to maximize efficiency and customer experience
  • Expand and strengthen ZIM’s customer base in Mexico

Strategic & Commercial Activities

  • Develop and execute the national sales strategy aligned with market trends
  • Maintain deep knowledge of competition, market dynamics, and trade flows
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and propose new commercial initiatives
  • Build strong, long-term partnerships with customers by understanding their business needs
  • Stay ahead of market trends and share insights with local teams, regional offices, Business Units, and HQ
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and strategic direction of ZIM Mexico

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business or a related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience developing and managing sales teams
  • Experience in a global company in a similar commercial leadership role
  • Deep knowledge of the container shipping industry in Mexico
  • Strong understanding of import/export flows, terminals, forwarding, and inland transportation markets

  • Proven people leader with strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience leading process improvement, change management, and digital transformation
  • Strong business development drive—able to grow new and existing accounts

Communication

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with internal and external audiences
