Job Description
The Role
The Junior Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of projects—primarily technical, but also non-technical—across Fastmarkets. Reporting to a Programme Manager, this role will work closely with product, business, and technology teams to ensure that project objectives are clearly defined, aligned with organisational strategy, and delivered to a high standard.
The Junior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and solution delivery. This includes managing the full project lifecycle from discovery and design through to implementation, testing, rollout, and post-go-live support. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills to engage with a wide range of internal and external partners, including business leaders, technical teams, and third-party vendors.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to translate complex business and technical scope into actionable project plans, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes in a dynamic environment. They will be adept at resolving issues and ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated early. They will be experienced and champion best practices in project governance, Agile delivery, and continuous improvement, contributing to measurable value for the business.
The PM will be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and they should be equally skilled at managing project plans, facilitating decision-making, and maintaining strong relationships across development, testing, product, and business teams. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering complex technology projects delivered by vendors
Principal Accountabilities
Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of assigned projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved on time and within scope
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to support project objectives
Proactively identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely escalation and resolution
Oversee third-party vendor and partner activities to ensure contractual obligations and quality standards are met
Maintain robust project governance, including change control, documentation, and compliance with information security requirements
Prepare and deliver clear, concise project status reports and updates for programme management and senior leadership
Ensure all project documentation is up to date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the project tea
Champion Agile principles and practices within project teams, adapting delivery approaches as appropriate for each project
Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
Support backlog management and prioritisation in collaboration with Product Owners and business stakeholders.
Encourage iterative delivery, regular feedback, and continuous improvement to maximise project value

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Fundamentals
- Excellent spoken and written English, is required, with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation for diverse audience · Strong business acumen in news, pricing, or commodities sectors is advantageous
- Demonstrable commercial experience as a Project Manager delivering both technology and business change projects across varied domains
- Proven track record of managing projects with third parties, including technology vendors and implementation partners
- Experience with large-scale data migration and integration projects
- Familiarity with, SaaS solutions, and Azure-based cloud infrastructure is highly desirable
General Skills
- Ability to operate effectively in diverse environments, adapting to different processes and stakeholder groups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-
- quality documentation for both business and technical audiences
- Experience facilitating workshops, steering committees, and decision-making forums with senior stakeholders and vendors
- Skilled in change control, risk management, and ensuring delivery within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters
- Strong leadership qualities: inclusive, collaborative, approachable, and professional
- Ability to work independently, motivate teams, and drive accountability for outcomes
- Proactive in ensuring all deliverables are met, taking ownership of ambiguous tasks
Technology
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, SaaS integrations, and information security/compliance requirements
- Experience working in hybrid Waterfall and Agile environments; Scrum Master experience is a plus
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, and Miro
