We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our Cook with ingredient preparation and perform essential cleaning duties. Responsibilities include inventory control, garbage removal, and maintaining cleanliness in refrigerators, freezers, and storage rooms.

• Nourishing Our Clients: Proper nutrition is a crucial part of recovery. By assisting in the preparation of healthy meals, you help ensure our clients receive the nourishment they need to support their physical and mental health.
• Creating a Safe Environment: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen helps prevent illness and ensures a safe environment for both clients and staff. This is essential in a treatment center where health and safety are top priorities.
• Supporting the Team: By efficiently managing kitchen tasks, you free up our Cook and other staff to focus on their primary responsibilities, such as providing direct care and support to clients. This teamwork enhances the overall effectiveness of our treatment programs.
• Promoting a Positive Atmosphere: A clean and well-organized kitchen contributes to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. This can have a significant impact on the morale and well-being of both clients and staff, fostering a sense of community and support.
• Enabling Focus on Recovery: When clients see that their meals are prepared with care and attention, it reinforces the message that they are valued and supported. This can boost their motivation and commitment to their recovery journey.

Requirements

 Education & Experience

• Previous experience as a kitchen assistant or similar role with at least two years' experience preferred
• California Driver's License with three years of clear drving record
• CA Food Safety Certification
• High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school is a plus
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
• Strong team working and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations
• The ability to stand for extended periods

• Excellent organizational and time management skills
