About the Role

Description

 The QC Destruct Lab Technician area of responsibility will be determined by the QC Manager. QC Destruct Lab Technician should be knowledgeable of and follow all work instructions and procedures which pertain to the area of responsibility.   

  • Assist Team Members to Achieve Work Goals 
  • Compliance with Internal Controls / Internal Policies 
  • Complies with Safety Regulations 
  • Ensures Proper Management of Quality Equipment 
  • Ensure all areas of responsibility are compliant to ISO/TS16949 requirements. 
  • Operate all equipment and measurement devices in the Destruct labs. 
  • Perform calibrations, tests, and validation work including generation of appropriate documentation. 
  • Perform weld destruct test/inspections at established frequencies, per work order and immediate production needs. 
  • Accurately complete various detailed documentation as required by established procedures. 
  • Must be willing to work overtime during the week and weekends to support production and Quality Engineer’s needs. 
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, interpret drawings and weld maps. 
  • Resolve quality problems as they are revealed. 
  • Maintain proper 4S within work area 
  • Ensure product’s performance and quality conforms to the customer’s specifications and requirements. 
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Willingness to cross train in multiple areas. 
  • Must be able to complete all the required tasks in the assigned times 
  • Assist QC Team Leaders and Supervisors with containment and sorting of defective vendor components and finished product. 
  • Elevate nonconformities or other abnormal conditions to the QC Team Leader and/or Supervisor and also notifying Production Team. 
  • Support Quality improvement and cost saving initiatives such as scrap reduction and reworking of parts when appropriate. 
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, interpret drawings and weld maps. 
  • Assist production when needed. 
  • Complete lab work orders and finalize detailed reports for Production, QE, or Customer requests. 
  • Complete required correlation audits. 
  • All other job duties as assigned. 

Requirements

 

  • Must have proficient oral and written communication skill 
  • Must be able to work the company’s required overtime. 
  • Must comply with FIA’s Attendance Policy. 
  • Must comply with all company rules and Quality procedures. 
  • Must have a good understanding of Toyota Inspection Standard 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced position. 
  • Ability to work well under stressful conditions. 
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions, interpret drawings and weld maps. 
  • Must be able to use basic measurement tools such as; calipers, steel rule, taper gauge, feeler gauges, and surface indicator. 
  • Must be proficient at basic math. 
  • Basic computer skills are a plus 
  • Must be able to perform all functions required in the destruct lab.   
  • Attention to Detail, Office Equipment Usage, Computer Usage, Multi-Tasking, Problem Solving, Team Participation, Motivation to Learn New Skills

  • Work Environment: Work is typically performed in a production environment 
  • Must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment such as computer terminal for data input, copy machines, calculator and any other equipment related to functional area. 
  • Noise Levels: Moderate Noise

  • Lifting up to 10 pounds – must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. 
  • Must be able to walk the distance of the plant floor multiple times daily

  • Verbal & Written Communications – Able to efficiently present complex matters to audience with little technical knowledge and to executive management. 
  • Telephone Communications – Able to communicate verbally using a telephone. 
  • Multitasking – Able to manage multiple work projects simultaneously.
