We’re looking for a <strong>senior-level Cloud DevOps engineer</strong> who wants real ownership: someone who enjoys designing resilient systems, improving reliability at scale, and making infrastructure boring (in the best way possible).</p> <p>This is not a “keep-the-lights-on” DevOps role. You’ll be shaping how our cloud infrastructure evolves as the company grows across regions, products, and customers.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Location &amp; Eligibility (Important)</strong></p> <ul> <li>This role <strong>must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area</strong> (Oakland office).</li> <li>Due to U.S. regulatory requirements, <strong>only U.S. citizens or permanent residents (Green Card holders)</strong> can be considered.</li> <li>This requirement is mandatory and non-negotiable.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and evolve AWS-based cloud infrastructure supporting production systems at scale</li> <li>Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using <strong>CloudFormation</strong> and infrastructure-as-code best practices</li> <li>Improve reliability, availability, and observability across environments</li> <li>Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native tools</li> <li>Support and optimize <strong>serverless architectures (Lambda)</strong> and containerized workloads</li> <li>Lead infrastructure upgrades with minimal downtime and strong rollback strategies</li> <li>Partner closely with software engineers, security, and platform teams</li> <li>Participate in shared on-call rotation and incident response</li> <li>Document systems and processes so knowledge scales with the team</li> <li>Contribute to and uphold Fictiv’s Quality Management System (QMS)</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p> <p>You’re likely a strong fit if you have:</p> <ul> <li><strong>10+ years</strong> in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, SRE, or Systems Engineering roles</li> <li>Deep hands-on experience with <strong>AWS</strong> (EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Lambda, S3, RDS, ECS, CloudWatch, CodeBuild, etc.)</li> <li>Strong scripting experience with <strong>Python and shell</strong></li> <li>Experience designing and operating <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong> in production</li> <li>A solid understanding of <strong>cloud security best practices</strong></li> <li>Comfort troubleshooting complex issues in live production environments</li> <li>Clear communication skills and a strong sense of ownership</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Salary Range (Bay Area)</strong></p> <p><strong>Base Salary:</strong> <strong>$165,000 – $200,000 USD</strong>, depending on experience and scope of responsibility.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Why Join Fictiv</strong></p> <p>At Fictiv, you’ll work on infrastructure that supports real-world manufacturing — from medical devices to robotics and advanced mechanical systems.
