Job Summary

The Home Assistant Supervisor is responsible for assisting in supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSP) as they work with students with neurodevelopmental disabilities work to achieve their activities of daily living, community integration and provides some assistance with academic skills, primarily in a group home environment and coordinating student services and care within a larger group home environment.


As a Home Assistant Supervisor, you will:

· Program Implementation: Under the direction of the Home Supervisor, assist in monitoring the implementation of student schedules, instructional programs, and Student Support Plans to ensure consistency and quality of programs. Assist in managing the budget for the group home, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, and maintaining records. (Excellence)

· Family Engagement: Communicate with parents as needed. Interact appropriately and effectively with a variety of individuals with varying needs, ensuring timely and considerate service. (Possibility)

· Quality Assurance: Assist in the implementation of Quality Assurance integrity checks. Ensure compliance with all Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE) rules and regulations pertaining to residential settings. (Leadership)

· Communication: Engage in clear, effective, and relevant written and verbal communication, relaying critical information, updates, and concerns in an interactive and customer service minded manner. Promote a positive atmosphere of professional development, mutual support, and teamwork. (Celebration)

· Safety and Health: Ensure the environment is safe and nurturing, intervene in crises, monitor health concerns, report incidents, and act swiftly in emergencies. (Integrity)

Education and Experience:


Required:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

Preferred:

· Valid Kansas driver's license with a good driving record preferred

· CPR Certification maintained and in good standing

· Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification maintained and in good standing.

· Completion of DSP IV Core Curriculum

· Completion of Coach Badge

· Completion of Heartspring Supervisor Training

  • Safety Compliance & PPE Requirements: Adherence to safety protocols and protective gear use constantly. Mandatory use of Heartspring standard PPE, with additional protective gear (e.g., gloves, helmets, arm guards, leg guards) provided as needed.
  • Physical      Interactions & Exposure Risks: Frequent exposure to physical interactions from clients, including slapping, hitting, punching, kicking, head-butting, and biting. Potential exposure to infectious diseases, parasites, bodily fluids, and blood-borne      pathogens in a school and residential care setting.
