General Job Summary

The Closer is responsible for managing the preparation of closing documents for loans.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare closing documents in LOS in time to meet closing date.
  • Assure that all closing conditions have been complied with on loan.
  • Complete thorough review of title work, homeowners insurance, etc. to assure all are in compliance with requirements of loan program/closing conditions. .
  •  Deliver closing package to the Title Company/Closing Agent
  • Coordinate with Title Company Closing Agent to assure all documents are correct.
  • Review the CD sent over by the Closing Agent
  • Make sure the CD matches the Mortgage Builder system
  • Make sure the CD is in Compliance with the Underwriting Conditions
  • Request wire to fund closing.
  • Enter wire information in the Online Banking system or request this function be done by authorized personnel.

Requirements

Education, Training and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous mortgage closing experience
  • Previous LOS experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner
  • Excellent organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending processes and procedures 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with many different groups/individuals in a team setting
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with low margin of error
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, and multi-task
  • Mortgage Builder
  • Ability to keep up to date on closing related regulations

Working Environment

Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor-allergens. Employee will work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments. 

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk)
  • Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard)

The salary range for this role takes into consideration a wide range of factors including but not limited to the duties of the role, experience, location, and certificates and/or education. The target salary range for this position is between $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
