Star Valley Health is now accepting applications for our Paid CNA Training Program. Earn your Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification with on-the-job training while getting paid and step into a stable, meaningful career caring for our community.
Classes begin March 30, 2026, and conclude the week of April 20, 2026.
Position Details
- Department: Care Center
- Supervisor: Director of Nursing

- Employment Status:
- Full-time, Part-time, and PRN positions available after successful completion of the training program
Compensation
- $14.40/hour throughout the training course
- $16.36/hour minimum once licensed as a CNA
- Additional night and weekend shift differentials available

Job Summary
While upholding the mission, vision, and values of Star Valley Health, the CNA Trainee provides compassionate, quality care to residents by performing delegated tasks within the scope of non-certified nursing assistant training. All care is delivered in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This is an at-will position.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete delegated patient care tasks according to training, state regulations, and facility policies
- Observe resident needs and behaviors and respond appropriately
- Communicate resident status and care needs to the charge nurse and CNA
- Promote a cooperative, respectful environment for residents, coworkers, and visitors
- Attend required in-service training and educational sessions
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and properly care for equipment
- Accurately document resident care using electronic systems
- Perform other duties as assigned

Abilities & Skills:
- Strong communication skills with residents, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt to changes and improvements in patient care practices
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Understanding of patient rights, safety standards, and infection control
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
- Dependable attendance and teamwork in an interdisciplinary environment
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, reach, walk, and move throughout the shift
Experience & Education:
- Willingness to enroll in Star Valley Health's state-approved CNA training program
- Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification or able to obtain prior to beginning employment
