About the Role

Overview

The Special Projects, Project Manager is responsible for managing aspects of LifeLong Medical Care’s Special Projects across health centers in Alameda and Contra Costa County. 

This is a full time, exempt, benefit eligible, on-site position in Berkeley, CA.

 

LifeLong Medical Care is a multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a wonderfully diverse patient community. Our patient-centered health home is a dynamic place to work, practice, and grow. We have over 15 primary care health centers and deliver integrated services including psychosocial, referrals, chronic disease management, dental, health education, home visits, and much, much more. 

 

Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and facilitating meetings with stakeholders (internal and external) to move assigned projects to completion.
  • Creating and managing a SmartSheet timeline for all projects.
  • Creating strategies and managing moves from one site to another, in partnership with Operations, as assigned.
  • Assisting the Senior Director of Capital Projects in move/renovation logistics for some projects already in progress.
  • Maintaining vendor/ contractor relationships and facilitating communication between these entities and LLMC Departments (ex IT, Network, Facilities, etc.)
  • Providing updates to  and soliciting input/support from supervisor and leadership team on project schedule, problems, budget etc.
  • Ensuring timeline adherence for each project.
  • Working with Grants/Planning re: funding requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to prioritize needs and manage time efficiently in demanding work environment.
  • Strong solution-oriented approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to seek direction/approval on essential matters, yet work independently with little onsite supervision using professional judgment and diplomacy.
  • Flexible and adaptive to change in process of completing complex tasks.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in leading projects, meeting deadlines, managing budgets, facilitating teams and working collaboratively with stakeholders in varying levels, care teams, patients, and executives.
  • Clear and concise communication skills – written and oral – as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive in identifying problems and working towards solutions with superior analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other web-based applications and health information technology, including databases.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with a number of professionals with different work styles and support needs.
  • Conduct oneself in internal and external settings in a way that reflects positively on LifeLong Medical Care as an organization of professional, confident, and sensitive staff.
  • Ability to see how one’s work intersects with that of other departments of LifeLong Medical Care and that of other partner organizations.

Job Requirements and Preferences        

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in healthcare services or non-profit social services required; community health a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in improvement methodology and project management required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
