Job Description
- Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa’s culture and service standards and reflects the values of Velaa Private Island.
- To support the overall strategic management of the resort by establishing effective working relationships with senior colleagues, in particular, the GM and their immediate direct reports.
- Help and support role to the General Manager in property strategic planning. Specific emphasis on master planning and “thinking outside the box” to identify value opportunities.
- Provides alerts to senior management and the corporate office via regular forecasts, outlook reports, or reporting concerning positive or negative trends in the business. Works with colleagues and the general manager to ensure consistency and accuracy of communication regarding future trends in the business.
- Ensure that all labor costs are flex according to levels of demand/activity/season and that opportunities for a better balance between quality and cost through clustering or outsourcing or both explored fully
- To jointly develop and maintain the closest possible understanding of revenue to ensure the greatest level of alignment between revenue and cost.
- Ensuring that Front Office, recreation, spa, golf, and F&B staff are fully trained and committed to upselling.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of international experience in luxury hospitality in a similar role or equivalent position is Rooms Division.
- Remote island-based experience is very desirable.
- Excellent command over written and spoken English and other European languages would be very beneficial.
- Advanced Microsoft software knowledge.
- Advanced selling skills with familiarity in emotional intelligence.
- Business leadership, cross-cultural work environments, exposure, and critical problem analysis/resolution skills.
