Position Overview
The VP of Marketing Strategy has extreme attention to detail (spelling, grammar, punctuation, logic and context) and is responsible for creating, designing and managing Responses to Requests for Proposals, Banking Proposals, and other marketing collateral. The position requires expertise in InDesign, Adobe suite (Photoshop), Canva and other design tools. The position will also serve as the company photographer (primarily related to client photoshoots), and social media content creation (primarily reels).
The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating on marketing strategy and creating multi-channel ad campaigns to enhance, leverage and promote the Five Star Bank brand, employees and customers, in accordance with Five Star Bank’s marketing plans. This position is also responsible for assisting in various content creation mediums under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer. Because the breadth of duties is diverse, organization and time management are vital. The sensitive nature of the information involved requires a high degree of tact as well as discretion.
This position requires exceptional attention to detail and excellent writing skills.
Essential Job Functions
- Working with the bank’s business development officers, create Responses to RFP’s, Banking Proposals and other marketing collateral
- Working directly for the CMO, identify and develop marketing campaigns to promote the brand, employees and customers (in various California markets)
- Interface with professional associations and organizations to leverage and build relationships and identify partnership opportunities
- Under the direction of the CMO, and in collaboration with the marketing team, write and design various content pieces including advertising in print / radio / cable news / social media posts, and niche market collateral for distribution, which may include the bank’s Annual Report and ESG Report
- Working with CMO, create content including articles, interviews, video and podcasts to build content library and promote the brand, its people and customers on websites and social media
- Research and provide quarterly competitor analysis to CMO and provide input on strategy or opportunities in marketing space
- Working with marketing team, maximize generative engine optimization for all social channels
- Working with marketing team, execute on social media ad campaigns and track ROI through data analytics including Google Analytics
- Review client touchpoints (including relationship management, lending and business development) to ensure consistency and adherence to brand standards
- Attend and assist with company events in support of business development efforts
- Acts as representative of Five Star Bank to internal and external stakeholders and operates with the highest level of professionalism and integrity
- Must have excellent attention to detail and strong writing skills
- Comply with all Anti-Money Laundering Laws and Regulations
- Other duties and project management as assigned
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design, English, Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations
- Minimum 5 – 10 years related work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
- Working knowledge of data analytics and generative engine optimization
- Social media channel management proficiency
- Experience with design tools, including Adobe suite (Photoshop), InDesign, Lightroom and Canva
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially writing skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
