The Brooklyn Improv is currently seeking Prep Cooks who will be responsible for producing and preparing high quality food items for dishes that are further cooked or combined with other ingredients to be served to customers. Before you apply, take a look at the below:


• Follows opening and closing checklists and refers to daily prep list at the start of the shift.
• Prepares variety of meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grill and fryers
• Stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent storage.
• Uses standard portioning of all products in accordance with standard portion size and recipe specifications.
• Promptly reports food quality problems or product shortage to Kitchen Manager
• Maintains clean and sanitary work area and proper food handling, safe and sanitation standards while preparing food.
• Assists fellow team members as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 • High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Minimum 2-4 years in restaurant/club experience
• ServSafe Food Handler; in regulation with County or State requirements.
• Adaptable in fast paced environment and work well with others.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends, accommodating concerning scheduling needs and requirements.
• Knowledge of sanitary practices.
