About the Role

Description

The Purchasing Coordinator will help identify needs, present and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential issues will make you successful in this role.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Item maintenance in internal databases of over 25,000 items including price and description updates
  • Manage orders for vendors ensuring correct shipping method, shipping address, and correct price on purchase orders
  • Factory liaison
  • Manage stock amount, safety stock amount and re-order amounts
  • Use order acknowledgements to check prices and shipping on orders
  • Freight claims on orders with missing parts or damages
  • Monitor orders for estimated time of delivery and correctness
  • Reduce fees by analyzing orders and combining orders
  • Manage dead, over or under stock by analyzing inventory velocity
  • Keep updated vendor files
  • Manage stocking agreements for various items and factories
  • Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as directed.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • 2+ years in procurement or purchasing is preferred.
  • Basic Math Skills.
  • Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment and still provide a high level of customer service.
  • Understanding of the retail sales process.
  • Familiarity with consumer behavior principles.
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures.
  • Understands accounting fundamentals such as payables, receivables, and GL Coding is helpful, but not required.
  • Beginning to intermediate computer skills and ability to utilize all business systems with proficiency; comfortable use of Excel preferred.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain a company insurable driving record.

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
