Description

River Commons Senior Living is looking for an experienced Cook to join our team. This position is part-time. Scheduled hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:30 AM to 3 PM. 

Job Summary:

To provide excellent dining room service in serving meals to residents and guests in a professional manner. Daily cleaning, bussing tables, setting up tables and completing daily side work.

Job Duties:

  • Maintains control of and responsibility for assigned section. This includes the satisfaction of residents dining in the section, as well as the look, cleanliness and presentation of the section.
  • Ensures that food is delivered hot to each resident and assists others in delivering food throughout the dining room.
  • Fully communicates any mistakes, mishaps, complaints and accidents to the Culinary Supervisor and the Community Administrator.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of food menu items and specials.
  • Assists with all aspects of the dining experience for all residents.
  • Assists with all job functions in the kitchen and dining room including but not limited to prep, greeting residents, running food, bussing and cleaning tables, maintaining dining room cleanliness, stocking supplies and washing dishes.
  • Completes all assigned side work and cleaning tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • 2 years of serving experience in a full-service restaurant setting.
  • CA Food Handlers Card
  • High School Diploma or GED

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand; and use hands to handle/lift objects. The employee must be able to regularly lift to fifty (50) pounds.

Additionally, the employee, on occasion, must crouch, kneel, or climb stairs. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
