About the Role

Description

Position Summary

  • Wall Maintenance assists the setting department in the stripping, washing, stocking, and general wall maintenance needs. 
  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 6am-10am
  • Ideal candidate will work at Poplar location

Essential Duties

  • Participate in the stripping of walls and the washing of holds and volumes.
  • Maintain, store and stage WM tools and supplies, including helping to maintain an organized and regularly inventoried back of house.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Assistant Head Setter and Head Setter.

Customer Service

  • Promotes SBP’s customer service philosophy to staff and in any interactions with members and guests.
  • Engages with customers, providing assistance with climbing, orientation, and amenities whenever on the floor.
  • Participates in a support role to ensure that new customers are introduced to the facility and rules when necessary.

Interpersonal Contacts

  • Works closely with all staff members and managers.
  • Works closely with and reports directly to the Assistant Head Setter and Head Setter.
  • Occasional interactions with members and customers.
  • Must appropriately represent the Seattle Bouldering Project in all of these capacities.

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Flexible schedule, occasionally including nights and weekends.
  • Self-motivated and able to see tasks through to completion.
  • Genuine desire to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to adhere to SBP policies and procedures.
  • Enthusiasm about working in the rock climbing/outdoor recreation industry.
  • Construction and/or mechanical experience.
  • Willingness to perform manual labor tasks and learn safe use of tools and techniques for maintenance and construction.
