Job Title: Part-time K–2 Teacher Assistant


Position Summary:


The K–2 Teacher Assistant supports classroom teachers and students by providing instructional assistance, supervision, and logistical support. This role works closely with teachers to help create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment for young students.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with individual students to reinforce academic skills and support learning needs under the direction      of the classroom teacher
  • Assist with small-group instruction to support literacy, math, and other classroom activities
  • Support teachers during classroom activities by helping students stay engaged and on task
  • Assist with recess and lunch supervision to help ensure student safety and appropriate behavior
  • Prepare classroom materials, including copying, organizing, and assembling instructional resources
  • Compile materials and assist with preparation for classroom projects and activities
  • Provide general classroom support, including organization of materials and learning spaces
  • Assist teachers with other duties as assigned to support the daily operation of the classroom and school


Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Strong classroom management skills and an ability to maintain consistent expectations.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; all candidates must be willing and able to actively support and model      Catholic teachings in word and action
  • Experience working with young children preferred
  • Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
