Cozzini has a great opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting/Finance Team!
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Perform month-end and year end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
Calculation of reserve requirements for bad debt, warranty, vacation and inventory obsolescence
Capitalization of inventory cost variances calculation
Calculating project revenue in accordance with POC revenue recognition pronouncement
Performing month-end close for equipment projects, plant operations and inventory
Monthly reporting upload to our corporate parent
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
Improve accounting processes and internal controls
Analyzing and reporting project and operating cost variances
Maintaining and reporting sales order intake and backlog reports
Maintaining the integrity of our inventory costs
Performing specific cost analysis and searching out cost savings opportunities
Assist in AP and AR if the circumstance requires
Managing all facets of the sales tax function
Active participation in the ERP system implementation
Any other Accounting Dept activities and special projects as requested by Management

Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum of three years’ experience in a staff accounting function (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
Needs to be a hands-on person
Aptitude for mainframe software systems
Must be proficient with latest version of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, etc) and Microsoft Outlook
Possess: strong organizational skills, effective follow-up discipline and operating without close supervision
Maintain strict confidentiality of business information
Must be able to manage time effectively and meet tight deadlines,
Must be flexible to adapt to rapidly changing priorities (i.e. able to quickly re-prioritize and change directions when the situation demands).
Ability to Research and analyze complex problems and develop an optimal approach for resolution.
Attention to detail, perform self-review of finished work and maintain high quality standards
