About the Role

Description

If you thrive in fast-paced, high-activity sales environments and enjoy building momentum from the very first conversation, this role is built for you.

Boater’s World Marine Centers is seeking a driven Consignment Sales Consultant whose primary focus is bringing boats into the dealership, not standing on the showroom floor waiting for walk-in buyers. This is a proactive, outbound-driven role centered on outreach, follow-up, and relationship building with boat owners looking to sell.

This is not a passive sales position. Success in this role comes from energy, persistence, organization, and the ability to manage a large pipeline of conversations at once. If you enjoy making calls, working leads, following up consistently, and keeping deals moving forward — you’ll thrive here.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • High-activity, outbound sales role ideal for candidates from inside sales, outside sales, hospitality, call center, or collections backgrounds
  • Commission-driven earning opportunity with strong upside
  • Primary focus on sourcing and securing consignment inventory — a critical function of the dealership
  • Constant flow of conversations with sellers and buyers; no two days are the same
  • Support from an established marine dealership with strong brand recognition and year-round demand
  • Clear expectations, structured processes, and a team that supports execution

What You’ll Be Doing

Seller Outreach & Consignment Acquisition

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for boat owners interested in consigning boats, trailers, and related marine equipment
  • Proactively reach out to prospective sellers through outbound calls, inbound leads, email follow-ups, and in-person conversations
  • Clearly explain the consignment process, pricing strategy, timelines, and expectations
  • Build urgency and maintain momentum to move sellers from interest to signed consignment agreements
  • Manage a high-volume pipeline of seller conversations and opportunities

Deal Management & Pipeline Execution

  • Track leads from first contact through intake and sale
  • Maintain consistent follow-up to prevent deals from stalling
  • Coordinate with internal sales and management teams on pricing and strategy
  • Support buyers and sellers through the transaction process once inventory is onboarded

Inventory Coordination & Organization

  • Evaluate incoming consignment units and assist with pricing, condition notes, and market positioning
  • Ensure inventory details are accurate, complete, and entered correctly into dealership systems
  • Monitor inventory status across multiple active listings and stages

Customer Experience & Administrative Accuracy

  • Deliver a professional, responsive experience to both sellers and buyers
  • Answer questions confidently and resolve issues quickly
  • Ensure all contracts, documentation, and records are completed accurately and in compliance with dealership standards

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales, service, and leadership teams to support dealership growth goals
  • Contribute to a high-energy, execution-focused team environment

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience & Background
  • Experience in high-volume sales, inside sales, outside sales, hospitality, call centers, collections, or commission-based roles
  • Comfortable with outbound outreach, follow-up, and pipeline management
  • Marine, automotive, RV, equipment, or consignment experience is a plus, but not required

Skills & Traits

High energy, self-motivated, and comfortable making frequent outbound calls

Strong communication, persuasion, and relationship-building skills

Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously

Goal-driven and motivated by commission-based earnings

Comfortable using CRM systems, inventory tools, and Microsoft Office

Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus
