Requirements

The Clinical Assistant is responsible for attending to patients’ pre-surgery and ensuring all relevant patient information is collected and recorded in preparation for surgery.


Clinical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Verifies patient information (i.e., medical history, purpose of visit) by communicating with a patient
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature
  • Records appropriate patient information on patient charts and/or Salesforce
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records
  • Counsels’ patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about surgery
  • Assists in preparation of charts, pre-admission, and consent forms
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures as well as complies with legal regulations
  • Upkeep’s inventory of supplies as needed

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Medical Terminology knowledge preferred
  • Holds and maintains an active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
