Position Summary

The Barback plays a critical support role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality bar operations at Sirena. This position supports bartenders by maintaining bar organization, stocking supplies, and assisting with setup and breakdown so the bar team can focus on guest service and beverage execution. The ideal candidate is fast-paced, detail-oriented, and thrives in a high-energy hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist bartenders during service by restocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and ice
     
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, back bar, and service areas throughout service
     
  • Refill ice bins, change kegs, and ensure draft systems are operational
     
  • Prepare and restock garnishes, juices, syrups, and other bar prep items as directed
     
  • Remove empty glassware, trash, and recycling promptly and safely
     
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including bar setup and breakdown
     
  • Support inventory organization and proper storage of bar supplies
     
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including responsible alcohol service guidelines
     
  • Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, and management to support service flow
     


Requirements

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous barback or restaurant experience preferred but not required  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment  
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods  
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail  
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays  
  • Positive attitude and team-first mindset  
  • Must meet legal age requirements for handling alcohol per California law
