Responsibilities:

Project Definition & Strategic Planning

• Define project targets and objectives in close collaboration with the restraint system team
• Establish technical requirements and performance benchmarks for airbag control systems

Cross-Functional Team Coordination & Leadership

• Facilitate effective communication between internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless integration of airbag control unit functions

Design Validation & Technical Review

• Actively participate in design reviews for different vehicle areas and components affecting restraint system performance
• Validate design proposals to ensure compatibility with airbag system requirements and regulatory standards
• Define, validate, and optimize sensor specifications and positioning throughout the vehicle architecture

Simulation & Analysis

• Analyze Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations to predict crash performance and system behavior

Crash Testing & Validation

• Define comprehensive crash test requirements in accordance with regulatory standards and internal protocols
• Supervise crash test sensing activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations

Algorithm Development & Calibration

• Calibrate Airbag Control Unit (ACU) algorithms to optimize deployment timing and performance across various crash scenarios
• Validate ACU algorithms through simulation, bench testing, and full-vehicle crash test
• Validate central airbag functions including crash detection, firing logic, and diagnostic capabilities
