Job Description
The Diesel Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of diesel-powered vehicles and plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations at the Al Quoz plant.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on diesel vehicles and heavy equipment (trucks, loaders, generators, forklifts, etc.).
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using appropriate diagnostic tools.
Repair or replace defective components including engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, fuel systems, and exhaust systems.
Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment comply with safety and operational standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and service reports.
Identify potential issues early and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools, equipment, and workshop facilities.
Comply with company HSE policies and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Coordinate with supervisors and plant operations to minimize equipment downtime.
Support breakdown repairs and emergency maintenance as required.
Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Diesel Mechanics or Automotive Engineering (mandatory).
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably in a plant, construction, or industrial environment.
Hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy vehicles.
UAE experience is preferred.
Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
Additional Information
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Good understanding of diesel engine systems and heavy equipment maintenance.
Ability to read technical manuals and service diagrams.
Time management and ability to work under pressure.
Basic communication skills in English (Arabic/Hindi/Urdu is an advantage).
Team-oriented with a strong safety mindset.
