This is a direct placement, full time position with Reliable Fire & Safety.

Position Summary:

Reliable Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced, results-driven Outside Sales Representative to expand our customer base and drive revenue growth for our fire protection product and service lines in the Charlotte area. This role focuses on selling portable fire extinguishers through advanced fire alarm and sprinkler systems, while building long-term customer relationships and supporting recurring service opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales & Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Sell a full range of fire protection products and services, including:
    • Portable fire extinguishers
    • Fire alarm systems
    • Fire sprinkler systems
    • Emergency lighting and specialized suppression systems
  • Deliver professional presentations and proposals to decision-makers.

Account Management & Growth

  • Manage and grow customer accounts after the sale by coordinating ongoing service and support.
  • Partner with internal service and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities to expand recurring revenue through inspections, maintenance, and testing services.

Reporting & Strategy

  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline reporting and forecasts.
  • Track activity, results, and performance metrics.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, codes, and customer needs to recommend appropriate solutions.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary plus commission negotiable based on experience.

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience in the fire protection industry.
  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales goals, with verifiable historical sales results.
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection products, services, and code compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Charlotte metro area.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing accounts and growing recurring service revenue.
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and inspection requirements.
  • Ability to confidently sell both simple and complex fire protection systems.
