Location: Memorial City (Houston, TX) — Full-Time, On-Site Only
Program Dates: June 1 – July 24, 2026 (8-week commitment required)

About the Internship

MetroNational’s Summer Internship Program is a structured, paid experiential learning program designed to provide meaningful, hands-on work aligned to real business needs. Interns spend approximately 75% of their time on impactful department projects and 25% on company-wide exposure, including shadow days, cross-functional learning, site visits, and professional development.

This is a competitive internship offering real-world, resume-ready application of technical skills across enterprise platforms, cloud systems, automation tools, and data environments.


What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to a variety of technology projects that support MetroNational’s business operations and real estate portfolio. Assist with developing, improving, or supporting software, data, cloud, or automation solutions as assigned by the IT team. 
  • Participate in hands-on learning across software development, systems, data, security, or application support depending on your background and interests. 
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to troubleshoot issues, research solutions, and implement technical improvements. 
  • Gain exposure to enterprise tools, cloud environments, and modern development practices used in real-world business settings. 
  • Document your work, share progress regularly, and build practical skills in communication, planning, and problem-solving. 
  • Complete a final presentation showcasing the project(s) you supported and the skills you gained during the internship.

  

Technologies You May Work With

(You are not expected to know all of these—but exposure to several is great.)

  • Languages: Java, Python, C/C++, .NET/C#, HTML/HTML5
  • Cloud: Azure, AWS
  • Data: ETL tools, DOMO, enterprise data platforms
  • Identity: Okta or similar SSO/MFA
  • Microsoft Stack: Power BI, Power Automate, Teams, SharePoint, O365
  • Operating Systems / Platforms: Windows (Wintel), macOS, iOS/Android

Requirements

Education & Training 

To support diverse pathways into technology, MetroNational welcomes applicants from multiple educational routes. Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Currently  enrolled in an accredited college or university, or
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed an accredited technical or trade school  program, or
  • Completed a reputable certificate program or coding bootcamp (software engineering, data analytics, cloud, etc.) with verifiable documentation

All applicants must submit a transcript, progress report, or certificate record, demonstrating:

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA for college/university students
  • Equivalent academic or performance evaluation for trade school or certificate/bootcamp programs (e.g., final project assessment, instructor evaluation, or official pass status)

Additional Requirements

  • Must commit to the full 8-week program (June 1 – July 24, 2026), full-time, on-site in the Houston office.
  • Remote internships are not available.
  • Applicants unable to commit to full-time, on-site participation may still be considered but will receive lower priority during selection.
  • Technical exposure to any combination of the programming languages, cloud platforms, data tools, or systems listed above.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
