JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dynamic homeroom and MYP subject teacher . Our school welcomes people ready to learn, contribute and collaborate together in order to co-create a curriculum that is significant, relevant, engaging and challenging. Our teachers are dedicated to supporting the growth and development of young people with the skills, knowledge and compassion necessary to face and overcome some of our greatest challenges. Our global community will require open-minded and flexible thinkers with the ability to problem solve and strategize through challenges. We share the belief that a multilingual and multicultural education allows our students to make connections across cultures, open doors and break down barriers.
HOW YOU WILL SUPPORT PINE STREET SCHOOL STUDENTS
- Develop and implement engaging, student-centered lesson plans that encourage critical thinking and creativity.
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and collaboration.
- Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to support student growth and development.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a strong home-school connection.
- Stay current with education research best practices, and continuously reflect on and improve teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement interdisciplinary units of study that connect multiple subjects and real-world issues.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to further personal and professional growth.
- Participate in occasional evening and afterschool obligations, including prep, admissions, ambassador support, parent education, and community building events.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in subject area(s), Master’s degree is highly desired.
- Fluent in German (highly advanced German language skills, C2 level)
- Minimum of three (3) years middle school teaching experience
- Experience in an IB School, Independent School or International Teaching experience strongly preferred
- A valid teaching certification (or equivalent)
- Fluent in English (able to successfully attend workshops, read professional information and work collaboratively in the language.)
- Experience in a 1:1 student device environment
- Experience teaching with Apple learning technologies and Google Workspace
- Desire to participate in co-curricular activities
- Fully authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future preferred
