As we grow, we’re looking for a Vice President of Business Development to help shape what’s next.

About the Role:

As Vice President of Business Development, you’ll be a strategic growth leader — building meaningful relationships, earning trust with owners and partners, and positioning Redstone as the operator of choice across student housing and multifamily markets.

You’ll own the full growth lifecycle: identifying opportunities, guiding conversations, leading proposals, closing new management agreements, and ensuring a seamless handoff into operations. Just as important, you’ll help shape Redstone’s reputation in the industry through credibility, consistency, and care.

If you’re energized by long-term relationship building, strategic deal-making, and growing something with intention — this role is for you!

What You’ll Do:

Drive Strategic Growth:

  • Partner with the Executive Team to define and execute Redstone’s third-party growth strategy
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new management opportunities with owners, developers, universities, and institutional partners
  • Build and maintain a healthy, forward-looking business development pipeline, tracking key opportunities and conversion metrics.

Lead the Deal Process:

  • Guide RFQ/RFP responses, proposal development, and client presentations
  • Negotiate management agreements that align with Redstone’s financial goals and long-term vision
  • Own the closing process and support a smooth transition into onboarding

Build Trusted Relationships:

  • Serve as a primary relationship owner for prospective and newly onboarded clients
  • Build and sustain strong industry relationships attending conferences, networking, and targeted outreach.
  • Strengthen Redstone’s brand through authentic, high-integrity engagement

Partner Internally:

  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Leadership
  • Ensure client expectations are aligned with operational excellence from day one
  • Act as a connector between growth strategy and execution

Think Ahead:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market opportunities
  • Identify where Redstone can grow smarter, not just bigger
  • Bring ideas that strengthen our positioning and long-term impact

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, real estate, property management, or a comparable relationship-driven B2B environment
  • Proven success in sales, acquiring clients, negotiating contracts, and driving revenue growth
  • Strong relationship-building and client management skills grounded in trust, credibility, and follow-through
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think big while executing details
  • Confident, compelling communication — written, verbal, and in presentations
  • Comfort collaborating cross-functionally and influencing at all levels
  • Alignment with Redstone’s purpose, values, and people-first mindset

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in student housing and/or multifamily property management, or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge
  • Familiarity with third-party management agreements and portfolio growth
  • Financial acumen around pricing, margins, budgeting, forecasting, and deal economics

What Success Looks Like:

  • Redstone consistently wins high-quality, values-aligned management partnerships
  • Units under management grow through strategic, sustainable client acquisition
  • New clients experience a seamless, thoughtful onboarding process
  • Industry partners view Redstone as a trusted, best-in-class operator
  • Growth is intentional, profitable, and aligned with long-term vision

Why You’ll Love Working at Redstone:

  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401(k) with up to 6% company match
  • Flex PTO and 10 paid holidays
  • Gym membership
  • Discounted phone plan
  • 3 paid service days per year
  • Paid parental leave
  • Professional development support
  • Employee assistance program

You’ll join a leadership team that values relationships as much as results, with the opportunity to shape national growth, influence meaningful strategy, and make a lasting impact in a culture that balances heart and hustle.

Location & Travel:

This role is based in a standard office environment with 50-75% travel for client meetings, site/ market visits, and industry conferences. Overnight travel is expected, including attendance at company leadership events and summits.

At Redstone Residential, we’re committed to creating a workplace where people thrive. We believe in elevating communities, starting with our own team. Whether you’re just beginning your career or looking to grow in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment, we’d love to hear from you.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
