Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Responsibilities:

  • Plan and administer treatment programs for residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
  • Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions in accordance with physician orders and the established plan of care, under the supervision of the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff regarding therapy goals, techniques, and outcomes.
  • Demonstrate competent technical skills consistent with current COTA standards of practice.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and promptly communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and billing in compliance with facility and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of current treatment practices and therapy interventions.
  • Familiarity with Net Health or similar electronic documentation systems preferred.
  • Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload while demonstrating professionalism and adaptability.
