Your Team:
Join Flair’s In-Flight team, where structured programs and performance insight support the development and effectiveness of cabin crew operations. Reporting to the Director, In-Flight, the In-Flight Programs Manager is responsible for managing the Cabin Crew Line Check Program, the In-Flight Director Upgrade and Leadership Development Program, and leading assigned In-Flight projects. This role evaluates cabin crew effectiveness against expected performance outcomes, using data and program results to inform continuous improvement across In-Flight operations, standards, and training.
This role is based on-site at our Edmonton (YEG), Calgary (YYC) or Toronto (YYZ) office.
A Day in the Life:
The duties of the In-Flight Programs Manager include:
Management Oversight of the Cabin Crew Line Check Program:
- Maintains program documentation (i.e., program manual(s), training materials, forms) in accordance with the document control process.
- Maintains the related line check process in the In-Flight Operations Process and Procedures Manual.
- Develops the year-over-year master line check plan across crew bases, ensuring adequate resources and budget allocation.
- Partners with Crew Planning to schedule line check assignments and communicate assignments to the Line Check team.
- Completes program administration through tracking completions, updating the master plan, ensuring documentation accuracy and updates to crew files.
- Analyzes resultant data to determine metrics. Compile reports for In-Flight management that demonstrate overall individual Flight Attendant competency and compliance. Escalate trends requiring corrective action and make standards and training recommendations.
- Partners with operations and training, as required, to provide coaching support for Flight Attendants for unsuccessful line checks.
- Selects, trains and mentors the Line Check team members.
Management oversight of the In-Flight Director Upgrade and Leadership Development Program:
- Leads the full In-Flight Director upgrade cycle - recruitment, selection and training.
- Maintains program documentation (i.e., program manual(s), training materials, forms) in accordance with the document control process.
- Maintains the In-Flight Director upgrade process in the In-Flight Operations Process and Procedures Manual.
- Partners with Crew Planning to schedule line check/upgrade flight assignments and classroom training.
- Partners with In-Flight Training to schedule the regulatory portion of In-Charge Flight Attendant training and communicate assignments to the upgrade candidate and assessor.
- Completes program administration through tracking completions, ensuring documentation accuracy and updates to crew files.
- Supports the operations team with In-Flight Director coaching, performance improvement plans, or demotion.
- Enables crew member development opportunities through one-on-one coaching and mentorship outside of formal and required Flight Attendant training
- Identifies crew development needs to design and deliver In-Flight Director workshops, which provide leadership development and career progression.
- When applicable, partners with HR/Recruitment teams as required to support Direct Entry In-Flight Director recruitment and onboarding (following completion of Initial Training).
In-Flight Projects:
- Manages the portfolio of projects and associated management of change documentation on behalf of the In-Flight team, as assigned by the Director, In-Flight.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role:

- Education:
- A diploma or certificate in Curriculum Development or Instructional Design is considered a strong asset.
- Training in Flight Attendant standards and instructional techniques is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of direct line experience as a Flight Attendant on a multi-crew aircraft; B737 experience is preferred.
- Leadership and management experience is required, including experience leading unionized employees.
- Demonstrated experience delivering results and engagement programs across large, distributed work groups.
- Experience in liaison, project coordination, and analytics within an operational or training environment.
- Strong facilitation experience, including leading training sessions or group discussions.
- Operational knowledge of In-Flight operations, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop employees in a high-performance environment.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive or complex discussions.
- Strong conflict resolution and decision-making capability.
- Effective planning, organizing, and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Smartsheet, and Microsoft Office applications.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
