Foundry Treatment Center Steamboat is a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center located in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We also provide an intensive outpatient and detox program designed to meet your unique needs. We have developed a proven clinical program that draws from the guiding principles of the 12-step philosophy, yet offers a modern approach that incorporates mindfulness, meditation, BioSound, Alpha Stem, nutrition, and yoga. Our drug and alcohol treatment programs are attuned to the whole person to address body, mind, and spirit. At the Foundry, we build on the foundation of the 12-steps recovery model with a modern approach supported by the latest research in addiction treatment. In consultation with our expert therapists and medical staff, we develop an individualized plan of service for those in treatment. Two of the clinical methods we employ include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing which helps you develop the motivation and skills necessary to maintain recovery. Our comprehensive Wellness Recovery Program promotes an active lifestyle by incorporating nutritional counseling and fitness classes. We offer a wide variety of seasonal activities, such as cross-country skiing, wilderness hiking, snowshoeing, fishing, cycling, and other outdoor pursuits. You will also enjoy arts and crafts, cooking classes, and meal planning, which complement a well-rounded lifestyle. Clinical Director - Steamboat

Reports to: Chief Clinical Officer

Job Category: Salaried | Exempt | Full-Time 

Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000/year

Job Site: Foundry - Ranch | Steamboat Springs

Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday; 9am-5pm


Job Summary:

The Clinical Director oversees and manages all clinical operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and maintaining the highest standards of client care. This position directly manages, supports, and develops staff.


Education and experience:

  • Master’s degree required with current State license (e.g. LPC, LMFT, LCSW). 
  • DORA-registered required.
  • 5+ years proven experience with people and program management in clinical settings.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong clinical skills including clinical supervision, group, individual and family counseling.
  • Strong ethics and ethical decision making.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Strong collaboration skills; guidance with/for other departments.
  • Ability to think strategically and make sound decisions. 
  • Ability to see the big picture, macro perspective.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Working understanding of State and federal regulatory requirements (JCAHO, BHA, CFR42, part 2, HIPPA). 
  • Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude. 
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of EMR and CRM.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain an environment of diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Model Foundry’s culture to team and implement strategies for connection, collaboration, and team building.
  • Maintain a reduced AMA/ACA rate.
  • Maintain clinical quality and safety of clients and staff.
  • Responsible for the professionalism, productivity, and consistency of the team.
  • Staffing (hiring, training, scheduling, onboarding).
  • Evaluation (performance management, performance evaluation).
  • Training (skills and competencies, professional development, career planning).
  • Apply knowledge of policies and procedures to aid all departments with situations.
  • Develop and implement programmatic and administrative policies and procedures to attain program goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the program's productivity to meet established standards and to ensure continuity of care in the provision of comprehensive services.
  • Supervision of administrative tasks, clinical services and staff restorative intervention.
  • Assist/direct clinical meetings/case conferences with all clinical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory documentation standards; model compliance.
  • Sign off on all non-licensed clinical documentation.
  • Review clinical documentation to ensure quality and completion within policy timelines.
  • Oversee utilization review communication and training of staff on this process.
  • Provide crisis and program counseling services, approve admissions, take “call” after hours.
  • Represent NRT’s mission and values.
  • Attend leadership meetings.
  • Assist with quality assurance meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Standing, sitting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, talking, hearing.
  • Exposure to clinical and medical environment.
  • Walking on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Driving in all weather conditions.
