Requirements

The ideal candidate will be equipped to teach a foundational integrated science curriculum, including the Scientific Method, Ecosystems, and Energy. The program is intentionally lab-centered, designed to build strong skills in laboratory setup, experimental design, and scientific inquiry. Candidates must demonstrate experience with lab safety and hands-on instructional practices.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach all levels of middle school science using a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual tools, hands-on experiments, and other supplemental materials.  
  • Prepare clear course objectives and develop lesson plans aligned with school and state curriculum guidelines.  
  • Assign lessons, provide timely feedback, and assess student learning through homework, quizzes, tests, and projects.  
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student progress; communicate regularly with parents regarding academic performance and concerns.  
  • Establish and maintain a well-managed, disciplined, and supportive classroom environment.  
  • Meet with parents to discuss student progress, behavior, and academic needs.  
  • Actively participate in grade-level meetings, interdisciplinary planning, and the coordination of grade-level trips.  
  • Engage in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and educational conferences to support continuous growth.
  • Contribute to school life by sponsoring student activities, clubs, or organizations as assigned.  
  • Provide collaborative support to colleagues, staff, and families to enhance the overall educational experience.
