Objectives:


The Fabrication Manager is responsible for directing all warehouse and material-handling operations within a fabrication environment to support production efficiency, quality, and safety. This role ensures accurate receipt, storage, staging, and distribution of raw materials, fabricated components, and finished goods while maintaining inventory integrity and traceability. The Warehouse Manager leads warehouse personnel, fabrication, welding, and production teams, enforces safety and quality standards, and optimizes workflows to support on-time fabrication schedules, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including staffing, scheduling, workflow prioritization, and labor allocation to ensure on-time production and shipping.
  • Enforce American Equipment policies and OSHA requirements through regular safety training and corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and consumables; coordinate with procurement to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate warehouse personnel to ensure consistent workmanship, quality standards, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Monitor production metrics, quality results, and throughput; identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce rework or waste.
  • Inspect finished products for defects or irregularities, ensuring they meet the quality standards and that all finished products receive (3) qualified signatures before shipping the products to the customer. 
  • Collaborate with team members and sales to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or other specifications to determine the customer requirements.



Required skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience fabricating and distributing lifting and rigging equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Technical expertise in the fabrication of slings (nylon, polyester, wire rope), wire rope assemblies, lifting devices, rigging hardware, hoists, synthetic ropes, sling protection, and tie-down equipment.
  • Strong understanding of materials used in lifting and rigging applications, including their performance characteristics and limitations.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance related to lifting and rigging.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail in a production-focused environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
