About the Role

PRN (As Needed) - No Benefits or Guaranteed Hours

Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic/outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards.  Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.  The position is essential for the functioning of the SageWest Medical Group.  The workload is generated by the number of patients the provider encounters each day.  Requires ability to make decisions and judgments based on knowledge and experience.

Primary Duties:

  • Implement and evaluate patient care.  Participates in the development of a patient-specific care plan.
  • Provide direct patient care including administering of medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Delegates, prioritizes, requests and accepts guidance and assistance from others to assure delivery of care in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through continued education and professional development.
  • Assists in the transporting of patients, specimens, supplies and equipment and in the maintenance and stocking of supplies and equipment to assure optimal functioning of the department.  
  • May triage patient phone calls, counsel patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds and monitoring patient vi-tal signs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Required to maintain a current Licensed Practical Nursing in Wyoming 
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.
  • Current BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
