About the Role

Company Description

We are currently seeking a Kitchen Steward to join the team at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Sunshine Coast Convention Centre.

Located on a beautiful lagoon, our property offers over 370 contemporary guest rooms, a vibrant on-site restaurant and the region’s leading Convention Centre, which hosts conferences, exhibitions, weddings and large-scale events year-round. From relaxed resort dining through to high-volume event service, our team delivers exceptional culinary experiences across every part of the business.

As part of the globally recognised Accor Group, you’ll play a key role in supporting kitchen operations across the resort, restaurant, and Convention Centre.

Job Description

As a Kitchen Steward, you will play an essential role in supporting our culinary team by maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.

Working closely with our chefs and kitchen team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining cleanliness across all kitchen and food & beverage areas
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Following correct food handling procedures
  • Assisting with basic preparation and ensuring mise en place is readily available
  • Supporting the wider kitchen team and collaborating with the Chef on duty as required
  • A current and valid Australian driver’s licence

Your contribution will help ensure smooth kitchen operations and support the delivery of outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

  • Service-focused with strong attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Adaptable and responsive to change
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen (preferred but not essential)
  • Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
