TPAC is looking for an Associate Underwriter to join our team. This is a hybrid, full-time position located in our Blaine, MN office. Join our team and help us change the way healthcare is financed, disclosed and delivered.   


OUR VISION FOR THIS KEY ROLE

As an Associate Underwriter, you’ll provide support to the Underwriting Department primarily through the preparation of underwriting files for new business prospects and renewals both pre-sale and post-sale.

A SAMPLE OF WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO IN THIS JOB 

· Rating System Data Entry (contract type/benefits/commission) in Access

· Census Data Entry (10-Key Data Entry in Excel)

· Performs Final Rate Calculations and communicates discrepancies to Underwriter for final approval

· Sends Declination Letters due to Geographical Location, Industry, *Age and *Participation (*upon direction from Underwriter).

· Communicates to TPA’s if any information is missing, incomplete or unclear on the RFP’s or Renewals

· Prepares renewal files with reporting, large claim assessments, rates and experience reporting.

· Assists underwriters with claims updates

· Assists underwriters with preparation and issuance of GenX renewals

· Assists with monthly aggregate reserving

Requirements

 WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE JOB   

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Insurance Experience 
  • Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Multi-tasking
  • Detail oriented, well organized and have the ability to manage high volume workload with competing demands
  • Competency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote and Access)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient 10-key speed/accuracy
