The Title Clerk plays a critical role in protecting the dealership, supporting the sales team, and ensuring every deal is completed accurately and on time.


Position Overview

The Title Clerk is responsible for processing and managing all vehicle title and registration paperwork in compliance with Washington state regulations and dealership standards.


This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, fast-paced, detail-driven environment and understands how important precision and timeliness are to dealership operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process vehicle title and registration paperwork accurately and within required timelines
  • Submit and track documentation with Washington State DOL and related agencies
  • Verify deal jackets for completeness and compliance before submission
  • Maintain organized records of titles, MSOs, payoffs, and supporting documents
  • Work closely with Sales, F&I, and Accounting to ensure timely funding
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly to prevent delays
  • Support internal and external audits while maintaining compliance standards

What It Takes

Experience

  • Prior experience as a Title Clerk, DMV Clerk, or automotive accounting/title professional preferred
  • Knowledge of Washington state titling and registration procedures strongly preferred 
  • Dealership experience highly valued
  • Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar DMS experience a plus
