Overview

In this role, this individual will be responsible for providing Front and Back office support and is not assigned to a Provider unless coverage is necessary for call- offs, time off requests and emergency staffing changes. They will act as the go to Medical Assistant providing exceptional customer service to all patients, assisting in completing daily clerical and clinical tasks under the direction of the Territory Supervisor. This position requires administrative duties and responsibilities however, it is not to be considered as an administrative position.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Complete knowledge and use of clinical tasks and organizational policies to administer effective patient care.
  • Understanding of all provider schedules and keep up with changes therein.
  • Knowledge of modern office methods, clerical equipment, operations and process; mechanics of different insurances; various medical forms and basic understanding of billing procedures and reports.
  • Must be available to answer questions from patients, staff members and providers.
  • Ability to multi- task in a high paced environment with good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of administrative skills including PC experience, using Excel, Word, and the Internet
  • Ability to type at a rate of 45wpm.
  • Ability to interact and verbally communicate effectively with patients and all levels of personnel in a professional, courteous and effective manner with excellent customer service skills.
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
  • Thorough knowledge of EMR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred)
  • Thorough understanding and use of CVMG’s Core Culture at each interaction with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate
  • CPR Certification
  • 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
  • 2+ years of Family Practice experience
  • 2+ years of EMR systems
