Primary Purpose

The Systems Administrator provide operational technical insights to stakeholders regarding IT system solutions being deployed within the enterprise environment. The IT Systems Administrator will provide technical support for the delivery and maintenance of IT solutions supporting Exelon. Must have the ability to evaluate IT infrastructure and application solutions and make recommendations for supporting application and data workloads within various hosting models. Demonstrate skills for basic monitoring, configuration and maintenance of, current hosting services to support virtual hosting technologies, software defined datacenter technologies, hyper-converged datacenter hardware solutions, and software tools. This role will work in collaboration with other IT teams, their leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable hosting of applications throughout Exelon's large & complex enterprise and real time operational environments.

 

Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).


Primary Duties

  • Take direction from peers to develop future improvement plans, resource requirements, migrations strategies, and project schedules. Understand other technologies and service offerings and their impact to the delivery of cloud based/hybrid/on-prem services. (35%)
  • Provide evaluation, testing, lab and mockup solutions as needed. Serve as a resource in assigned daily support and deployments to operations and ensure solutions meet business requirements and operational metrics (SLAs). Responsible for operating and maintaining solutions at the component level, including hands-on configuration, troubleshooting and metrics for cloud based/hybrid/on-prem services. (35%)
  • Support projects, planning, maintenance and operations. Work with project teams, application/service support teams and end users to support availability and perform feasibility analysis on potential changes related to infrastructure applications. Provide basic technical knowledge for maintaining performance and reliability of key IT solutions. (15%)
  • Learn risks identified during business impact analysis, site risk assessments and disaster recovery planning. (10%)
  • Build technical knowledge and business acumen within our own discipline or function. (5%)

Job Scope

  • Position interacts with all levels of employees, including executives, vendors, involved in performance, maintenance, review, approval, testing and communication of business plans and services.
  • Verify and clarify the needs and expectations of customers.
  • Responds quickly and efficiently to customer service requests.
  • Participates in and conducts meetings with customers. Keeps customers informed of status via standard reporting techniques.
  • Meets the continuing service needs of a customer group, including requests for changes in work content. Responds to customers with an appropriate level of urgency, energy, persistence and tenacity.
  • Position has expertise in Microsoft and or Oracle technologies.
  • Position has hands-on competency in platform or application area of expertise, and tools/systems associated with these functions.
  • 24/7 on-call rotational duties.
  • Works under supervision and oversight.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and 2-4 years' relevant experience in IT infrastructure support, application support, cloud computing, disaster recovery or 3-6 years equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience.
  • Demonstrates the ability to influence customers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one operational domain such as storage, compute, database, collaboration, application support, cloud hosting and related technologies.
  • Experience with a specialized technical skill set and advanced knowledge in 1-3 technical areas.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot Layer 1, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks with team oversight.
  • Ability to travel domestically.

  • O365 Skills Certifications, Copilot Skills Certifications, Power Platform Skills Certifications
  • Experience in M365 Ecosystem, included but not limited to Exchange 2019, Distribution List Management, PowerPlatform Administration and Copilot.
  • Ability to triage tickets while providing quality service to end users

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $69,600.00/Yr. – $95,700.00/Yr.
