About the Role

The Role

At Fisher & Paykel Appliances, we design with people at the centre — creating products that elevate everyday living and stand the test of time. Our purpose is simple and ambitious: to create moments of delight in the home while building a sustainable future for generations to come. It’s why we exist, and it drives every decision we make.

We’re guided by values that engineers appreciate: trust, innovation, curiosity, generosity, and a deep commitment to sustainability. You’ll join a team where ideas are explored, challenged, and refined — all in service of becoming the world’s most human‑centred appliance brand.

The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our specialist, agile Product Development team in Auckland.

You’ll work across multiple product platforms, designing and developing the electronic controls that power our next generation of appliances. From analogue and digital circuitry to power electronics, you’ll take concepts from specification through to prototype, testing, refinement, and final design.

This is a hands‑on role with real ownership. You’ll collaborate with engineers across Auckland, Dunedin, and our global sites, and work closely with suppliers to optimise designs for manufacturability, performance, and cost. You’ll also play a key role in continuously improving our development processes.

What you’ll bring

You’re someone who loves electronics, thrives on technical challenge, and enjoys working with others to solve complex problems. You’ll bring:

  • Strong project management and delivery skills
  • Experience developing electronics‑based solutions
  • Proficiency in mixed analogue/digital circuit design
  • Experience designing for high‑volume manufacture
  • Understanding of EMC considerations and compliance
  • Hands‑on prototyping and testing capability

You’ll have a BE (Electronics) or equivalent technical degree and 4+ years’ experience in electronics development.

We value curiosity, practical innovation, and engineers who take pride in delivering high‑quality, reliable results. If you enjoy owning your work end‑to‑end and seeing your designs come to life in real products, you’ll thrive here.
