Job Summary:

To provide clinical treatment services to foster children and parents as part of the foster care service plan focused on addressing mental health issues.


Duties/Responsibilities:

· Provide individual and group therapy and psychiatric supports youth and families in care by utilizing interventions from evidence-based psychotherapeutic methodology.

· Provide collateral sessions with the caretaker and/or birth parent as needed to enhance treatment.

· Conducts assessments for children to assess the need for mental health treatment.

· Establish treatment goals for children, utilizing historical and current available information in collaboration with multidisciplinary team.

· Participate inter-disciplinary conferences to assess the overall needs of the youth in care..

· Communicate with the family, Foster Care department, other departments to enhance client compliance and integration of services.

· Participate in weekly individual supervision and weekly group supervision.

· Attends all required trainings to enhance skills working with high risk population.

· Completes and maintains all required documentation including, but not limited to progress notes, psychosocial, and treatment plans. Required documentation will show the client is being assisted with developing skills, psychoeducation and intervention to increase goal obtainment.

Requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team

· Experience using Evidence Based Treatment

· Computer proficiency

· Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.


Qualifications and Requirements:

· Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

· Due to the nature of the work environment work hours will be based on needs of program and may vary.

· Our Agency operates in 2 locations: Staten Island and Brooklyn. The ability to travel between sites is required.

· Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned within the scope of position.
