The primary role is assisting in meal preparation for residents and staff at the treatment center and cottage, adhering strictly to menu, recipe, and sanitation guidelines under the Food and Nutrition Manager's supervision. Responsibilities also include ensuring food safety through temperature monitoring, cooking meats correctly, following HACCP procedures, and cooperating with other staff while serving residents.

Description
To assist in the preparation of meals for the residents and staff of the ITASKIN Treatment Center and Residential Treatment Cottage. Under the direction and supervision of the Food and Nutrition Manager, follow guidelines in preparation, clean up and any other duties as given.
Follow menu and recipe guidelines
- Follow proper sanitation guidelines set forth by kitchen policies and per the Health Department
- Ensure all food s are in the proper safety zone prior to serving to residents and staff
- Record all temperatures before serving meals
Safe Handling Procedures
- Cook all meats and other potentially hazardous foods according to the temperature guidelines set forth by the Department of Health
- Follow proper hygiene and safe food handling procedures set forth by HACCP covered, according to HACCP guidelines
Cooperate with other Staff
- Serve residents according to times specified by kitchen supervisor but be flexible to changes made by youth counselor shift manager
- Be polite to residents and youth counselor staff when coming through the serving line
- Report any unusual behavior by residents to youth counselor staff
- Assist youth in working in the kitchen as part of vocational program
All Other Duties As Assigned
Other duties may be assigned to this position periodically depending on the needs of the agency and/or Human Resources Director.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED and two years of experience in related field.
- Individual must be non-judgmental in regards to lifestyle, race and/or economic status of clients.
- Must be 21 years old and have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
