About The Company
The Charleston County Aviation Authority (CCAA) owns and operates the Charleston International Airport (CHS), Charleston Executive Airport (JZI) on Johns Island and the Mount Pleasant Regional Airport (LRO). Chartered in 1970 by the State of South Carolina as a special purpose district, it is responsible for managing, operating and developing all public airports in the Charleston County Airport District. The Aviation Authority coordinates its activities with the Federal Aviation Administration and the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission. The Aviation Authority District is governed by a 11-member board. The South Carolina House and Senate delegations representing Charleston County each nominate three members (approved by the governor) and one member is jointly appointed by the Charleston County Council and the Charleston City Council. The mayors of the City of Charleston, City of North Charleston and Town of Mount Pleasant, the chairman of Charleston County Council and the chairman and vice chairman of the Charleston County Legislative Delegation serve as ex-officio board members. The appointed members serve four-year terms.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing the duties of and directly supervise Landside Operations Specialist (LOS) I’s and serve as the Landside Operations Supervisor as needed. This position reports to the Assistant Manager, Landside Operations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Manages/Assists with daily shift operations assists supervisor with Landside Operation Specialist I’s ensuring proper uniform and full compliance with rules & regulations; hosts daily briefings to ensure shift staff has current information regarding issues, temporary policy changes, and adjustments needed to accommodate out of the ordinary operational needs.
  • Acts as Supervisor during Supervisor’s absence: assign LOS to needed areas for shift; resolve customer complaints and conflicts; check and collect airline parking vouchers; reconcile cashier drawers; process taxi fee payments and update same monthly; provide lunch relief for shift supervisor and LOS I’s; maintains entry and exit gates ensures gates are working properly; monitors ticket levels at each gate; checks and maintains lot inventories; maintains LPR system and Parcs Operating System.
  • Processes and documents daily activity: completes required shift logs/reports/paperwork; processes parking tickets; collects payments; audits transactions for accuracy; prepares nightly revenue reports and logs: monitors and deposits revenue; reconciles cashier booth and credit card lanes; maintains and processes transactions and reports; audits cash and credit card reports nightly; ensures accuracy of reports completed by LOS I’s; balances and audits various shift reports; completes supervisor reports; verifies monies in operating bank and deposits total monies collected during shift.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures receives various documentation, and reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
  • Operates or uses various equipment and supplies to complete work assignments operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
  • Communicates with Airport Authority officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, vendors, tenants, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems 

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a related field of work.
  • Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.


Specific License or Certification Required:

  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Available Shift: 

4:00PM - 12:30AM, Tuesday - Saturday
