Position Overview

The Membership Director is responsible for recruiting, retaining, and engaging members while supporting sponsorship and revenue growth. This role focuses on relationship-based sales, member service, and active participation in programs and events. This is a full-time, salaried position with commission or incentive opportunities and requires flexibility for some evening and weekend commitments.


Key Responsibilities

· Drive membership growth by prospecting, recruiting, and closing new members, clearly communicating the value of membership and consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals

· Serve as a primary relationship manager for approximately 900 existing member businesses, leading onboarding, engagement, retention, and responsive issue resolution

· Identify and advance opportunities for membership upgrades, sponsorships, and deeper engagement that increase member value and organizational revenue

· Support sponsorship and partnership sales tied to programs, events, and special initiatives, ensuring fulfillment and strong experience

· Maintain accurate CRM records and manage a disciplined sales pipeline, tracking prospects, renewals, engagement activity, and revenue performance

· Prepare regular membership, sales, and retention reports to inform leadership decision-making and performance management

· Actively participate in programs, meetings, and events, supporting on-site member engagement and representing professionally in the community


Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in business preferred; equivalent experience considered

· 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, fundraising, or a membership-based organization

· Proven ability to meet sales goals and manage a prospect pipeline

· Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with social media a plus

· Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented

· Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
