As a Baggage Handling Systems Design Engineer with Swanson Rink, you will be responsible for designing baggage handling systems for airports around the world. This individual will be participating in studies, creating simulations that depict actual operation for alternative design solutions, observing baggage handling systems construction, and performing systems testing and commissioning.


We are looking for an engineer who has or can gain a strong understanding of the mechanical components used in conveyor systems and has familiarity with 3D design tools.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  • Design Baggage Handling Systems and in-line Checked Baggage Inspection Systems (CBIS) to include product selection and 3-dimensional layout for a complete functioning system meeting TSA Program Guideline Design Standards (PGDS) and throughput requirements.
  • Perform required flight schedule/static model analysis to determine the design year peak hour baggage load.
  • Attend periodic onsite inspections during the construction phase.
  • Perform onsite testing, start-up, and commissioning of completed systems in accordance with PGDS standards.
  • As part of the BHS engineering team, you will also provide support for designing fueling, boarding bridges and other airport systems.


Requirements


Your Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
  • Must have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
  • Must be able to successfully pass background checks, security screenings and drug testing as required by TSA, our clients and/or Federal contracts.
  • Must be available to travel occasionally.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary range of $70,000 – 80,000 and will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
