Mō te tūranga | About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director Corporate Advisory you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality corporate finance, strategic and financial advisory services to complex and high‑value clients. You will support clients through significant strategic, financial and capital‑related decisions by providing rigorous analysis, sound judgement and commercially astute advice.
Operating as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, you will partner closely with Relationship Managers and product specialists to originate, structure and execute advisory engagements that deliver sustainable outcomes for clients and for Westpac. As a senior member of the Corporate Advisory team, you will exercise a high degree of professional autonomy, commercial acumen and market credibility.
You will contribute to the overall strength of the advisory franchise by enhancing client relationships, supporting revenue growth, and reinforcing Westpac’s reputation as a leading corporate advisor in the New Zealand market. The Associate Director also plays a key role in embedding Westpac’s values, sustainability commitments and risk discipline into advisory activity, ensuring advice is ethical, customer‑centric and aligned with long‑term value creation.
You will need to be a self-motivated team player, possessing strong initiative, drive and customer service values in order to meet our customers’ needs.

Strong knowledge of corporate finance and 5 plus years’ experience within the banking and finance industry
Exceptional analytical skills to develop financial models ideally using Capital IQ and Bloomberg
High customer service values and professional approach
Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with an inquiring mind and an enthusiastic team player
Customer focused problem solver
