Job Description

In this role as global business development manager for SGS you will will lead business development and sales growth for marine and maritime environmental monitoring services across the network. Combining commercial leadership with technical insight to expand market presence, secure strategic contracts, and drive sustainable revenue growth across coastal, port, and offshore sectors. You will join a global team of leaders within SGS Marine Services (Environment, health and safety) and be responsible for growth across your assigned sector (Middle East, Africa, and India).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute global sales and business development strategies for marine environmental monitoring services; including monitoring revenue and performance pertaining to contracts.
  • Identify, evaluate, and respond to tenders across coastal, port, and offshore markets together with local and regional teams.
  • Actively prospect, negotiate, and close new business within the maritime and shipping industries, leveraging the vast SGS network of ports where operational teams are active.
  • Work closely with the Global Marine Services Team to develop client-focused, innovative service solutions and align with the company's strategic goals while providing assistance to local operations when needed.
  • Contribute to other necessary activities as directed by the business to ensure the success of the Marine Services Team.

Qualifications

Essential: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, environmental sciences, engineering or maritime studies.
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or  commercial leadership within marine, maritime, offshore, or environmental services.
  • Strong professional proficiency in English.
  • Ability to operate across regions, cultures, and stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. 

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification Sector is advantageous.
  • Background in consultancy or related discipline is also beneficial. 

This role will involve regular (30-40%) regional and overseas travel
