The Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of QSC’s Audio‑Video‑Control (AV&C) products and platform. This role requires strong ownership, the ability to work independently, and effective collaboration across global teams. The candidate will work across manual and automated testing, contribute to engineering-driven quality improvements, and play a key role in scaling productivity through automation.

 

This Position is based out of Bengaluru, India

Responsibilities

  • Develop software test cases, automated test scripts, and troubleshoot issues across complex AV&C systems.
  • Design and execute end‑to‑end test scenarios for QSC’s AV Full Stack Platform, including functional, system, performance, and network‑based video workflows.
  • Drive release management activities, including build validation, regression execution, and release approvals.
  • Own defect management, including logging, triage, verification, tracking, and closure through JIRA.
  • Prepare, publish, and present release reports, test summaries, and quality status reports to cross‑functional teams.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Lead Engineers, and SMEs to understand business requirements (Jira stories) and translate them into effective, measurable test cases.
  • Participate actively in the software development lifecycle, providing quality insights early and continuously.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to debug complex issues, analyze logs, and validate fixes across distributed systems.
  • Identify repetitive, high‑effort manual processes and convert them into scalable automation to improve team efficiency.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, frameworks, and test environments to support long‑term engineering velocity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Quality Assurance.
  • Strong hands‑on experience in both Manual and Automation testing, with the ability to function as an individual contributor.
  • Proficiency with automation tools and scripting frameworks; working knowledge of Python or equivalent scripting/programming language.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with local and globally distributed teams, adapting to discussions and cross‑functional alignment across time zones.
  • Ready and willing to work on video product testing over network environments
  • Ability to operate in environments with limited or no unit/integration tests, designing practical validation approaches to ensure quality.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying manual effort and converting it to automation to increase overall productivity.
  • Experience working within Agile/SCRUM development processes.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Capability to develop innovative solutions for complex engineering and quality challenges.
  • Willingness to learn and work across video, audio, networking, and cloud technologies, including meeting room and networked AV systems.
  • Strong sense of initiative, ownership, and self‑direction, able to proactively identify work and drive progress without heavy structure.
